In the national language of Vanuatu, Bislama, you will often be asked “afta?” - which means “and then what?” We originally set up this blog to chronicle our time in Tulwei Village (NW Malekula Island), and those archives are still available. Now that we're back in the capital city of Port Vila, we will continue to keep you updated on "...and then what?". We'd love to hear from you as you have comments, and invite you to check back in often. Thanks for your prayers and support! God bless...

Cyclone Pam 3/15 Late
We are still unable to contact anyone outside of Vila or Etas. We tried to make it to Eton & Epau today to check on our loved ones there, but were unable to make it very far at all out of Vila as the bridge at Teouma (about 15 minute drive) was washed out. Couldn't make it the other way around the island either as a bridge that way was ruined too. It's hard not knowing if they're okay...the storm surge was big & could have been devastating to these two villages. No one (even NGO's, aid organizations, etc) have any news about the other side of the island or any of the outer islands. We are doing what we can personally for those we love here, but feel emotionally drained and overwhelmed & so, so small. Please continue to pray. We have no idea how long it will be until we hear anything from the rest of our loved ones in Vanuatu. God is our sustainer. He is our strength. And the prayers & offers of help from all of you are holding us up. We know you're with us in prayer and spirit. Thank you. - SB
